With a voice that can charm the birds from the trees and songs that make a grown man cry, Helen Townsend has had a huge impact on the country/folk scene in Western Australia in the past few years. Her debut EP, Wayward Heart, released in 2014, was nominated for multiple awards and will soon be followed by a full length album.
Helen’s style lies in the broad field of Country but crosses the plains from Folk to Americana, Bluegrass to Alt-country. Working with some of WA’s most respected musicians, Helen is fast establishing herself as one of our most exciting and talented performers.
Whilst her debut CD, Wayward Heart has resulted in multiple nominations including a WAM Song of the Year for Streets of Glory 2016, Boyup Brook Country Music Awards Single of the Year for Red Light 2016 and nominated for Independent EP Of the Year 2017. Helen is currently recording her full length album which has already had a nomination in Song Of The Year Country Category WAM 2017 for Promised Land.
